Best Ramen Restaurants that you must visit in Stockholm

I’ve had more than 20 bowls of ramen in Stockholm; these are my recommendations.

About the Author

Hi, I am Joe. I am from Singapore, a country in South East Asia.

I have been in Stockholm for almost a year. During my time in Stockholm, I have tried many bowls of ramen.

My love for ramen grew during my time on student exchange in Stockholm.

It was probably because this was the closest dish I could find that was similar to what I could find in Singapore.

Throughout my time here, I ate ramen a lot when I chose to eat out, and here are my recommendations.

Ramen Restaurants Scene in Stockholm

Stockholm is the capital of Sweden.

In recent years, Stockholm’s ramen scene has seen a significant boom, with numerous restaurants dedicated to this beloved Japanese dish.

Ramen, a comforting bowl of noodles in a savoury broth, has captured the hearts and taste buds of Stockholmers, creating a demand for authentic and high-quality ramen establishments.

Stockholm’s ramen restaurants offer diverse styles and variations, from classic tonkatsu ramen with its rich and creamy pork broth to shoyu ramen with its soy-based savoury flavours.

Each restaurant puts its own unique spin on the dish, incorporating local ingredients and infusing it with Scandinavian influences, resulting in a fusion of flavours that delights the senses.

My Favourite Ramen

Regarding my favourite ramen, I have a particular affinity for spicy flavours. The heat and complexity of spices add an extra kick and depth to the delightful bowl of noodles. I find that the spiciness elevates the overall experience and satisfies my craving for bold and intense flavours.

That being said, if spicy ramen isn’t on the menu, I turn my attention to clear broth varieties like Shoyu or Miso.

These broths provide a different yet equally enjoyable experience. The clear broth allows the individual ingredients to shine through, creating a harmonious blend of flavours. The umami-rich soy-based Shoyu broth and the earthy depth of Miso broth offer a comforting and satisfying bowl of ramen.

Price of a bowl of ramen in Stockholm

A bowl of ramen costs from SEK 139 to SEK 159.

This is true for most of the restaurants that I have been to. Some might cost more, but I have yet to discover it.

What is the number 1 ramen in Stockholm?

Based on the ramen I have tried in Stockholm so far, I would crown Take Ramen to be the overall winner.

Ramen Restaurants to Visit in Stockholm List

#1: Take Ramen

Address : Gästrikegatan 2, 113 62 Stockholm

I visited Take Ramen twice and always ordered the Spicy Miso ramen (SEK 155).

The soup is made with Pork Paitan (white soup) mixed with spicy miso paste. The broth is rich, sweet, yet spicy at the same time.

The ramen is topped with minced pork, scallion, sweet corn, seaweed and soy-marinated egg.

The minced pork adds a layer of springyness to the already very al-dente noodles.

I recommend that you also get yourself some pork belly. The meat and fat are cooked to perfection such that it melts into your mouth.

They are the overall WINNER for soup, ingredients and noodles.

#2: Tokyo Ramen

Address: Hötorget 3, 111 57 Stockholm

I visited Tokyo Ramen probably more than 10 times during the past 10 months.

This was the first place in Stockholm that made me love ramen.

I just went on 16 June 2023. It seems like the service staff has changed. They are seemingly using thicker noodles too.

The broth in Tokyo Ramen is not as rich as in Take Ramen, but it is still very tasty.

#3: Ichiro Ramen

Address: Kommendörsgatan 28, 114 48 Stockholm

Bowl of ramen from Ichiro Ramen in Stockholm. There are Entrecote, Chai-soy marinated egg, beansprouts and Bamboo shoots in the bowl.

I visited Ichiro Ramen once but really liked the thick and springy noodles.

I ordered Spicy Tantanmen (SEK 155 Lunch/SEK169 Dinner).

Unlike most ramen restaurants that serve pork belly, Ichiro Ramen gives a choice of Entrecote or Chicken to come with the ramen.

The ramen broth is made with pork. It is served with Chai-soy marinated egg, beansprouts and Bamboo shoots.

My only complaint was that the broth was a bit salty for me.

#4: Totemo Ramen

Address: Sankt Eriksgatan 70, 113 20 Stockholm

Bowl of ramen from Totemo Ramen in Stockholm. Served with two slices of pork belly on top of ramen.

I came here once. The noodles are not the same as a normal ramen shop.

There is usually a long queue here as the shop can only fit 10 people (I CAN’T REMEMBER).

Be sure to come early or be ready to queue (which is likely the case for this ramen place).

#5: Kapibara

Address: Riddargatan 20, 114 51 Stockholm

I went here once. The noodles were alright, the soup was good. A decent bowl of ramen.

However, I am unsure why they added coriander. I removed that before eating it.

While you are here, get yourself a karaage (fried chicken). It is super good for a pre-ramen snack.

Conclusion

I have shared with you a few ramen restaurants that I think deserve a visit.

If you visit these restaurants, be sure to share how you feel about these recommendations with me.
