Are you a coffee enthusiast? Do you appreciate good food? If so, you’re in for a treat in Dalat, Vietnam’s coffee capital and emerging culinary destination. Allow me to present my top picks of the finest cafes in Dalat that offer exceptional coffee, nice views and a delectable spread.
Introduction
Vietnam is known for their rich coffee culture and of course, we have to visit the cafes in every city. Dalat can be a very laid back and relaxing city so we took our time to visit many cafes while we were there. We visited 5 cafes and 3 of these are our favorites in the 9 day itinerary out of 9 cafes visited throughout the trip.
1. MIRK

My visit to MIRK was a funny one as we went to a bar opposite instead and were confused about the ambience.
After we looked around, we realised that MIRK was the opposite shop.
This is due to MIRK’s elusive entrance, it is covered by a black sheet and there is no sign board, you would not know that there is a cafe there!
After the confusion, we made our way in to MIRK. We were greeted by the lush greenery and zen ambience.

We got Mirk Sua Da which is Vietnamese White Coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
The coffee was so rich, strong, aromatic with a bittersweet taste.
We also had the passionfruit cheesecake which was a pleasant surprise for me as I am not a fan of cheesecake.
Overall, it was a tie between this and the second cafe (Quan Cua Thoi Thanh Xuan) on the list as they were both so good.
2. Quan Cua Thoi Thanh Xuan

A different style from the previously mentioned cafe, this cafe provides a cozy and warm ambience yet has many plants around too, especially mini cactus.
Upon ordering, we realized the cafe is operated by deaf/mute so sign language is used here.
In addition, the coffee and pastries were paid as you wish except one special menu item which we did not get.

We were shocked at how good the coffee and pastries were and of course we just had to pay for their value.
We got the iced mocha, iced coconut coffee, a cupcake and cookie and all of them tasted so good.
The coffee was so rich and smooth, we wished we discovered this gem earlier and we could drink more coffee!
The cupcake and cookie were so good too, we went back for more cookies!
They have a proper retail store selling essential oil, mini cookies (different from what is served), tea leaves and coffee powder.
They also have chili salt, tomatoes and some vegetables put at the storefront which were paid by TIPS – basis.
3. Cabin In The Woods Đà Lạt

Arguably the best cafe in Dalat with the best views!
Located near Dalat Alpine Coaster, Cabin in the Woods offers a wide variety of drinks for you to chill and immerse yourselves in the amazing space available.
There are many furry dogs running around too!
We only tried the chocolate latte while we were there and were surprised at how thick the drink is, in a good way of course!
4. The Station View Coffee

Korean style cafe in Dalat? The name of the cafe is definitely the style of the cafe – Korean Metro stations!
The space is huge and there are many Korean decorations.
The cafe also offer rental of traditional costume to take those Insta-worthy pictures.

We got Iced Caramel coffee and Iced Coconut Coffee and they were nice but not the best.
The Iced Coconut Coffee is a blended drink which was refreshing but the coffee taste was the least prominent among all the coconut coffees I’ve had.
Nonetheless, the cafe is very well designed to bring out the best of Korea.
5. Viva Coffee

Not the kind of cafe with decorations and ambience like the above 4 with their own uniqueness but Viva Coffee is still a cafe that serves good drinks and food at affordable prices.
We got the Orange Black Coffee and Iced Latte which were both good and decent but not the best.
Is It a must go? Nope, but it was still a good place to relax with some views above the hills.
